posted on Monday, 20th October 2014 - [ 936 views ]

Known in real life as Thomas Otoo hailing from Adabraka in Ghana, Motu Blanka as his stage name has officially unleashed his newest single title ‘gyae no’ in the country.

The full blood of the land that lives in ATL – USA is in town to pay homage to his motherland and the people of Adabraka, fortunately he has granted 18newspaper.com an exclusive interview about his current music state.

Motu Blanka started by answering our first question which was, ‘what brought him back home and why this time’.

He mentioned: ‘Ghanaian music is going worldwide, the artiste here are doing great in the United States hence I decide to come down and kick start a successful journey that has already started in the states hence my simple mission in Ghana.’

He maintained: I respect the kind of music the artiste are doing now, so in my little way I want to come pay homage to the good work here, and do some ‘collabos’, so what a time to back home when you know your root has a lot in stock for you’.

18newspaper.com next question we asked Motu Blanka was, looking at the current trend of music down here, (talking about Azonto) does he think he can fit in.

‘the answer is simple, I do worldwide music, am talking about music with language content, if you listen to some of my music you will realize that I am a dynamic artiste who can switch to any trend so far it is world music hence yes, I can fit perfectly and funny enough my first single released in the states was an azonto sort of song called ‘pool party’.

Currently with 22 songs all recorded, Motu Blanka is looking forward to a soon album release in Ghana and hopes his family here will accepts his creativity and innovations.

‘I know Ghanaians know good music, they want to always vibe to something better than just noise, I have the lyrics to soften their hearts both in the Azonto way and melodious angle hence I am in to stay in the music sector of Ghana’, Motu Blanka noted.

In his ending statement he threw shouts to all ATL massive living in Ghana, following on facebook, youtube and twitter plus all lovers of his great worldwide music. The rapper also sent shouts to radioatl.com which is one of the biggest online radio setup in ATL now.

‘I am grateful to God, radioatl.com for all their support these times, ideas, time and dedication, also to my friend Nana Xzii inside ATL- USA, every one supporting the Motu Blanka dream, I say let’s keep the dream alive, appreciate it’, Motu Blanka final words.

A son of the soil has returned with great music and lyrics, he kind of music is world music which is to make people understand the message he is trying to send across, could that be the key to international recognition for our local artistes, something for them to think about.
